Vegetative propagation of an ornamental conifer: some techniques in podocarpo cutting

ABSTRACT: The asexual propagation of conifers, such as Podocarpus macrophyllus (Thunb.) Sweet, faces difficulties. Among the factors that can improve efficiency are types cuttings used and lesions performed at base cuttings, use plant regulators, indolebutyric acid (IBA). This study determined to be cutting base, type used, method convey IBA concentration required obtain a proper rooting condition for species. Two experiments were from March July, 2018, in randomized blocks with factorial scheme, follows: 2 x 4 (IBA application solution talc concentrations 0, 500, 1,000, 1,500 mg L-1 IBA); 3 (basal apical bevel, wedge, horizontal base). In both experiments, arranged on masonry bed containing medium-textured sand. After 120 days experimentation, concluded percentage was favored by basal wedge treated approximately 550 L-1.
